Echo: The Complete Edition
Written and drawn as an independent comic by Terry Moore, Echo is a cautionary tale about scientific ambition warped by human intentions and the consequences of huge technological leaps. It’s full of action, humor, and has a classical plot line that forgoes the open-ended traditional super hero comic. The book follows Julie, a photographer who is showered with a strange reactive metal that adheres to her skin. She struggles to understand what’s happening to her, while being hunted by the government and their need to cover up their creation. It’s a quick read with an accessible drawing style and well-written characters. Toward the end, all the characters take on a similar sense of humor and voice, but the book holds solid and leaves you in a great state. If you enjoy graphic novels, this is a great read.
